Construction Notes
This triangle is worked flat in turned rows, starting from the center point and gradually increasing on both sides.
The mesh is created using:
• dc
• ch 2
Floral motifs are worked directly into the mesh fabric and arranged in a staggered layout.
Continue repeating the flower placement pattern until the desired triangle size is reached.
My sample was completed in 30 rows (including the foundation triangle).
This design can be worn as a top, wrap top, beach cover-up, or extended into a dress by continuing additional rows.
⸻
Step 1: Foundation Triangle
Ch 7.
Work 1 tr into the first chain.
This creates the foundation triangle.
⸻
Step 2: Row 1
• Ch 6
• Turn
• Dc into the base of the turning chain
→ side increase
• Ch 2
• Skip 2 chains
• Dc into next chain
• Ch 2
• Tr into the same chain
→ side increase

⸻
Step 3: Row 2 — First Flower
• Ch 6
• Turn
• Dc into the base of the turning chain
Flower Petals 1–3
• Ch 2
Work 2 partially completed dc into the first stitch
Work 3 partially completed dc into the next stitch
Work 3 partially completed dc into the next stitch

Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook to create a shared top.
Flower Petal 4
• Ch 2
Work 2 partially completed dc into the center of the flower
Yarn over and pull through all loops.
Complete Row
• Skip next ch-2 space
• Dc into next stitch
• Ch 2
• Tr into same stitch
→ side increase

⸻
Step 4: Row 3 — Complete Flower
• Ch 6
• Turn
• Dc into the base of the turning chain
• Ch 2
• Dc into next stitch
• Ch 2
Work 3 partially completed dc into flower center

• Ch 2
Work 3 partially completed dc into flower center
Join with a shared top.
• Ch 2
• Dc into next stitch
Complete mesh section:
• Ch 2
• Dc into next stitch
• Ch 2
• Tr into same stitch
→ side increase

⸻
Step 5: Continue Building Flowers
Row 4:
Work two flowers in a staggered arrangement with one mesh cell between them.

Row 5:
Complete both flowers while maintaining one mesh cell between motifs.

Row 6:
Work three flowers in a staggered arrangement.

Row 7:
Complete the flower row.

Continue following the same principle:
• flower rows alternate with completion rows
• flowers are arranged in a staggered layout
• maintain one mesh cell between neighboring flowers
• increase on both sides of every row
Continue until desired size is reached.
My sample was completed after 30 total rows.

⸻
Step 6: Top Edge Finish
Work single crochet evenly across the top edge of the triangle.
⸻
Step 7: Corner Ties
Note: For dress, skirt, or cover-up versions, skip the corner ties and make two separate long cords instead.
Create a cord:
• Ch 60
For a firmer cord, gently tighten each chain with your thumb while working.
⸻
Step 8: Shell Border
Join yarn at one corner.
Work along both angled sides:
• 5 dc into the joining point between two rows
• Sl st into the next joining point
Repeat across the entire edge.

At the opposite corner:
• Ch 60
to create the second tie.

Fasten off.
⸻
Step 9: Styling Cord
Create one additional cord:
• Ch 300
For a firmer cord, gently tighten each chain with your thumb while working.
Use this cord to style the triangle in different ways.

⸻
Finished
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
